What’s your opinion to television? Do you regard it as a friend or a killer?
Sometimes parents would appreciate that TV really has done a big favor for them when they are busy doing their work. TV accompanies with their children during the lonely time. TV is also an important channel for the children to acquire knowledge. However, more and more parents become to find the disadvantage or problems brought by TV.
The unhealthy information appearing on the TV will have bad influences on children. Watching TV without any time limit, many children’s eyes have got serious eye disease. First of all, let us find out the reasons for the emergence of the disease. Here are three main reasons.
Firstly, if the screen luminance is too glaring, it will cost a great deal of rhodopsin on the retina. Furthermore, it may even hurt rhodopsin and impair the vision temporarily.
Secondly, when the TV screen’s picture and color are distorted, the color cast will appear and this will hurt the red, green and blue visual pigments in the cone cells of retina. Maybe this is the reason that eyes may fail to distinguish colors.
Thirdly, the unstable fax may cause eye fatigue, dizzy and other symptoms, which are just as what we will feel after we read in a moving car. Eyes may lose the ability to focus on the objects correctly. Over time, the ciliary muscle will get hurted, impairing its ability of focusing objects and leading to myopia.
In order to reduce teenagers’ eye diseases caused by TV, we should make joint efforts. TV producers can try to make eye-protection TV programs and improve the quality of images. Meanwhile, parents should help children develop good habits of using eyes in a proper way.
In fact, parents should pay more attention to their children and spend as much time as possible with their children. Loneliness helps TV to be the only friend of children and also hurts them a lot. The best way to make television to be the real friend of children is to watch it under the correct direction of parents or remove their loneliness by talking and playing with them.
Therefore, it’s you who decide the TV to be a friend or a killer!
